Westport being one of the premier tourist destinations boasts a wide variety of attractions and places of interest for tourists of all ages. Westport is a heritage town and has it’s own heritage centre along the Quays. The centre also runs guided tours of the town during the high season and by appointment.

We are very proud of Westport’s achievements in the Tidy Town Competition, having won it 3 times in the past decade, most recently in 2008 on the 50th Anniversary of the Tidy Towns Competition.

Westport House & Country Park is one of those rare attractions that appeals to everyone with its mixture of history, culture and fun for all the family.

Westport Golf

Westport Golf Club is rated as one of the premier parkland courses in the country.It has hosted many prestigious golf events and is situated on the shores of Clew bay in the shadow of Croagh Patrick. It offers some of the most breathtaking scenery in the West of Ireland.

Westport Golf Club has a challenging and scenic parkland Championship Course. Indeed Westport is the ideal base for golfing in the West and North West, as it is a short hop to a large number of Links and Parkland Courses in the West and North West.

Westport is also a hugely popular destination for the sporting enthusiast. Fishing, walking, cycling, equestrian and golfing needs are all catered for in and around the town.

For the Walker and Cycling enthusiast there a number of challenging and stunningly beautiful trails to follow that incorporate the mountains, hills and coast surrounding Westport. Again we would be happy to offers advice on these to all of our visitors.
